RESUMO

The presence of water in narrow pore spaces affects the occurrence and flow of methane, which in turn affects shale gas production. Therefore, studying the occurrence and distribution characteristics of water is of great significance to predict gas production. Based on molecular dynamics simulations, this study investigated the occurrence characteristics and influencing variables of liquid water in kaolinite nanopores in situ. Owing to its widespread distribution, kaolinite is the most prevalent clay mineral with two surfaces with different characteristics. Three systems of pure water, a CaCl2 solution, and a H2O/CH4 mixed phase were created at varied temperatures (80-120 °C) and pressures (70-120 MPa). The presence of gas and water in the nanopores was investigated thoroughly. The results showed that the adsorption of water on the Al-O octahedral surface of kaolinite was not affected by external conditions under in situ conditions, whereas the adsorption of water on the Si-O tetrahedral surface decreased with increasing temperature, but the change was small. When ions were present in the system, the water capacity decreased. Based on the aforementioned results, external conditions, such as temperature and pressure do not affect the basic state of water. However, if there are more than two fluid types in the system, the adsorption of water on the mineral surface is reduced owing to competitive adsorption. In addition, a CH4-H2O mixed system was simulated, in which methane molecules were distributed in clusters. There are two types of adsorptions in pores: gas-solid interactions and solid-liquid-gas interactions. CH4 molecules are thought to be clustered in water molecules because of the strong hydrogen bonding interactions among the water.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the acute effect and mechanism of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) on basolateral 50 pS K channels in the thick ascending limb (TAL) of the rat kidney. The TAL tubules were isolated from the rat kidney, and the activity of the 50 pS K channels was recorded using the patch­clamp technique. The results indicated that the application of TNF (10 nM) significantly activated the 50 pS K channels and the TNF effect was concentration­dependent. Inhibition of protein kinase A, phospholipase A2 and protein tyrosine kinase using pathway inhibitors (H89, AACOCF3 and Herbimycin A, respectively) did not abolish the stimulatory effect of TNF, indicating that none of these pathways mediated the TNF effect. By contrast, the phenylarsine oxide inhibitor against protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) decreased the activity of the 50 pS K channels and blocked the stimulatory effect of TNF on these channels. Furthermore, western blot analysis demonstrated that the application of TNF (10 nM) in the TAL increased the phosphorylation of PTP, an indication of PTP activity stimulation. Thus, it was concluded that the acute application of TNF may stimulate the basolateral 50 pS K channel in the TAL and the stimulatory effect of TNF may be mediated by the PTP­dependent pathway.

Photovoltaic module measurements are predominantly taken by using pulsed solar simulators. However, significant errors can be generated when the existing simulators are applied to current high-efficiency crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules. This paper presents the design and implementation of a novel solar simulator featuring reflection-type light source and single long-pulse flash. The analysis and experimental study of the capacitance effect and the technical details of the simulator including reflection-type lamp house, xenon flash lamp power supply, and source-measure unit are introduced. The results show that the complete system achieves Class AAA performance in accordance with the international standard. The proposed simulator outperforms other similar products on the market and has been adopted by some well-known photovoltaic module manufacturers. The practical application demonstrates that this high-performance and cost-effective simulator is quite suitable for photovoltaic module production line.
